PRIVACY POLICY

Your data. Your rights.

This policy explains which data Running Letters processes, why it is processed, how long it is kept and how you can exercise your rights. It is prepared with the Personal Data Protection Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH, 12/2025) in mind.

Last updated: 3 October 2026.

What data we collect

For the newsletter we keep your email address and the time you signed up. When you send us a story, we receive what you write in the message: your name, email, location and the story itself. If you accept statistics cookies, Google Analytics records pseudonymised visit data: pages opened, approximate location (country and city), and device and browser type. We collect no other personal data.

Purpose and legal basis

We use your email address only to send the newsletter, based on your consent. We use the stories you send to read, edit and, with your consent, publish them. We use visitor statistics to see which content is useful, and only if you accept cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing carried out before. Consent is not a condition for using the site.

Newsletter sign-up

The consent box is separate from everything else and is not ticked in advance, so a sign-up is not complete without your active confirmation. Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Sending a story

The “Send your story” form opens your email app with a prepared message and sends nothing on its own. When you send the email, it arrives at jovanacumbo@hotmail.com. We publish a story only with your consent and delete the message when you ask us to.

Cookies and browser storage

Without asking, we use only what the site needs to work: a cookie with your chosen language, and a note in your browser that you have already signed up for the newsletter and how you answered the cookie question. Statistics cookies (Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_*, lasting up to 2 years) are set only if you click “Accept”. You can change your choice at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page; when you reject, the statistics cookies are deleted.

Services that process data

We do not sell data or share it for anyone else's marketing. The site uses these services: Brevo (France, EU) for the newsletter; Vercel (USA) for hosting; Sanity (Norway) for story content, with no visitor data; Microsoft Outlook for email; Google (USA) for visitor statistics, only with your consent. Some data is therefore processed outside Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the EU and the USA, under standard contractual clauses and other safeguards these services apply.

How long we keep data

We keep your newsletter email address until you unsubscribe; after that only a record of the unsubscribe remains, so we do not email you again. We keep story emails while they are needed for publication or until you ask for deletion. Google Analytics keeps visit data for up to 14 months.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability where applicable, and withdrawal of consent. You may object to direct marketing at any time. Send requests to jovanacumbo@hotmail.com.

Direct marketing

The newsletter is sent only with consent. Each marketing email clearly identifies the sender and includes a visible unsubscribe link. After unsubscribing, the email is removed from the active list, except for the limited record needed to honour the unsubscribe request.

Complaints

If you believe the processing is unlawful or your request has not been resolved, you can file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (azlp.ba).

Privacy contact

For questions, rights requests or withdrawal of consent, email jovanacumbo@hotmail.com. Describe your request and, when needed to prevent misuse, confirm that you control the email address. We will respond without undue delay and within the time limits required by law.
