Running Letters

About the platform

Running, stories and community - in one place.

Running Letters is a platform created from the desire to gather real emotions from marathons, half marathons, travel, hiking, community events and personal challenges - all found somewhere along the kilometres we cross.

My name is Jovana Cumbo. Through my own journey and dream of completing the World Marathon Majors, but also through my love for movement in any form, I felt inspired to create a platform that would speak not only about running, but about the things that truly move us - experiences, people and values shaped between distances, cities and encounters.

From running alongside close friends and organizing humanitarian initiatives from Basel to New York, to the year 2025 when I stepped outside every comfort zone I had known, through experiences that came naturally, beautiful moments but also difficult emotions - this website became my way of connecting running, community and the thing that gave running a deeper meaning for me: humanitarian work. Through my preparation for my second major marathon (Chicago 2026) and a fundraising campaign supporting breast cancer research, I hope this journey might inspire you too.

It does not necessarily have to mean organizing a fundraiser. In a world shaped by constant speed and pressure, I believe running, walking or cycling can become a way of understanding ourselves better and becoming more aware of the beauty of the present moment. To reconnect with the things that genuinely move us and to move toward them at a pace that feels natural to us personally.

I do not want everything to become just mathematics although being fast is a beautiful thing. Beyond that, this is a digital space about people, emotions, movement, travel and experiences that stay with us long after crossing the finish line.
